Title: On the Decentralized Control of Large-Scale Power Systems
Abstract: One of the more representative large-scale systems is a multiarea power system. The automatic generation control (AGC) has been over years, a prevailing problem in the operation of interconnected power systems. In the AGC problem of any power system, three operating modes are normally recognized - (i) Basic Control Mode, (ii) Emergency Control Mode, and (iii) Corrective Control Mode. Among the problems - tie-line load and frequency control (LFC) and economic dispatch control (EDC). In this paper an overview of the application of large-scale system decentralized control theory to the load-frequency control problem is presented.
