Title: Trailertrashed: Detritus-inspired Strategies for Interrogating Place
Abstract: We live by our leftovers. Obsessed with the often diametrically opposed entities of money, survival and nature, we have taken on our waste as something to be recycled, buried and/or erased. Seeking to be segregated from the consequences of our existence, we pipe our excrement offshore, siphon waste-waters underground and regenerate food stuffs into compost. But how do we reconcile this with the fact that we (as populations and nations) are expanding (and so getting closer to each other) with our collectively compulsive desire to create ever greater circuits of mass production?
