Therefore we obtain high resolution Echelle spectra of the late-F to early-K type stars of our sample with high signal-to-noise ratio. Stellar atmosphere analysis following Fuhrmann (2004) can then be performed in a homogeneous manner and will provide precise measurements of stellar parameters. Activity indicators, such as lling-in of chromospheric lines, as well as lithium absorption features will constrain the age of the stars. Furthermore radial velocitites from our spectra and proper motions from the literature will constrain the kinematic properties of the UMa group. By now we have observed most F to K type stars of our sample. In this paper we demonstrate that the spectral synthesis analysis of Fuhrmann (2004) which is based on FOCES spectra can be performed to the same level of accuracy with the Coud e- Echelle spectrograph in Tautenburg.Read More
