Title: EPRI test centers: full-scale experience for new technologies
Abstract: The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) operates seven centers to test and demonstrate the results of research and development. Their purpose is to expedite the transfer of new technologies from the laboratories to the utilities. Some offer hands-on training for utility personnel. Brief descriptions cover the work at each specialized facility, which includes high-voltage transmission research, underground cable testing, scale treatments, nondestructive testing, battery energy-storage testing, coal cleaning, and transmission-line mechanics. 10 photographs.
