Title: Chemical Composition and Nutritive Value of Amlisho (Thysanolaenea Agrostis) Grass
Abstract: The nutritive value of Amlisho (Thysanotaenea agrostis) grass was determined in 4 Siri x Jersey bullocks by feeding the grass as sole feed. The voluntary DM intake from Amlislo grass was 2.45 ± 0.14 kg per 100 kg body wt. per day. The grass is rich in CP content (13.26 per cent). The DCP and TDN content of Amlisho grass were 8.24 and 50.22 per cent on DM basis. The balances of N, Ca and P were positive. Thus, Amlisho is a nutritious grass and can be fed to meet the maintenance needs of adult cattle.
