Title: Application of newly E-Tracking technique in the quantitative evaluation of carotid elasticity.
Abstract: Objective To investigate the value of newly E-Tracking technique in the quantitative evaluation of carotid elasticity. Methods The subjects included 32 cases with carotid atheromatous plaque and symptoms(symptom group),26 cases with carotid atheromatous plaque and no symptoms(plaque group),26 cases with high risk symptoms(high risk group),25 normal cases(control group). The carotid elasticity in the four groups were evaluated by newly E-Tracking technique. Results There were no significant difference in carotid elasticity parameters between two sides in symptom group and plaque group, but the data of Eρ,β,PWVβ,AI and IMT in which were significantly higher than those in the high risk group and control group, and AC in which was significantly lower(P0.05,0.01).PWVβ in symptom group and plaque group was positively related to β,Eρ,IMT and negatively related to AC,while there was no correlation among Eρ,β,AC,IMT and AI.Conclusions Newly E-Tracking technique can reflect the changes of carotid elasticity objectively and accurately, and may provide important information for early prevention and therapeutic evaluation.
