Title: Localization and Inhibition of Monoamine Oxidase
Abstract: Use of the selective irreversible monoamine oxidase (MAO) inhibitors clorgyline and (-)-deprenyl (selegiline) have allowed the distribution and specificities of the two forms of the enzyme, MAO-A and MAO-B, to be determined in a number of tissues and species (for reviews, see Fowler and Tipton, 1984; Tipton, 1986). The distributions and specificities of MAO-A and -B in a number of human tissue homogenates are surrmarised in Table 1.
