Abstract: REGINA, SASKATCHEWAN, CANADAS BEGAN OPERATING A DIAL-A-BUS SYSTEM IN THE FALL OF 1971. THIS ARTICLE REVIEWS THE ADVANTAGES THE CITY HAS FOUND WITH THIS SYSTEM. ALTHOUGHT THE INITIAL COST OF THE SYSTEM IS MORE THAN THAT OF A FIXED SCHEDULE BUS SYSTEM THE ADDITIONAL PATRONAGE MAKES DIAL-A-BUS MORE ECONOMICAL TO RUN IN THE LING RUN. THE SYSTEM ALSO MAKES TRANSPORT MORE CONVIENIENT FOR NON AMBULATORY PEOPLE, SMALL CHILDREM AND PEOPLE NOT LIVING NEAR A REGULAR BUS LINE. IT HAS ALSO HAD AN IMPACT ON RESIDENTIAL LOCATION AMD OCCUPANCY. REGINA'S TELEBUS HAS MET WITH WIDE COMMUNITY APPROVAL.
