Title: Anti-Haloperidol Antibodies And Their Auto-Anti-Idiotypes: Tools In The Study Of Neurological Disorders
Abstract: Dopaminergic pathways appear to be involved in many brain functions including mental and emotional states (1). There is clinical and pharmacological evidence which indicates the involvement of dopaminergic mechanisms in neurological disorders of the central nervous system (2–4). Antibodies to dopamine receptors and to dopaminergic ligands may provide appropriate tools for the investigation of dopamine receptors. In addition, this may be especially attractive in view of the possibility that autoimmune mechanisms might also play a role in neurological disorders (5–7).
