Title: Kinetics of liquid-phase hydrogenation of phenol on a palladium catalyst
Abstract: The kinetics of liquid-phase hydrogenation of phenol into cyclohexanone on a Pd catalyst were studied. At atmospheric pressure, the reaction rate is described by the equation previously obtained for liquid-phase hydrogenation of benzoic acid. At pressures of 0.7-4 MPa, the rate obeys a zero-order equation. The preexponential factor of the Arrhenius equation for the number of rotations in the zero-order region correspond to a transmission coefficient of /kappa/ << 1.
