Abstract: The author describes the performance monitoring system Forney Engineering Company and Black and Veatch Engineers-Architects have joined forces to market. It is an integrated, real-time system for on-line monitoring, evaluation, and control of power plant production. The system uses two monitors: the operator controls the plant with one and observes the results on the other. The author explains some of the advantages of the system and examines whether it is worth it for plants to invest in this system. To date, there have been three joint installations.
