1961-66, out of which, the share of the private sector has been estimated to be of an order of Rs.1,050 crores. Major heavy industries planned planned relate to the expansion of existing iron and steel and ferro-alloy industries inc-luding establishment of a plant for alloy tool and spec-ial steels, production of non-ferrous metals and alloys, particularly aluminium, zinc and electrolytic copper, establishment of industrial machine manufacturing and machine tool plants, etc. Other major items included in the programme of the Plan are coal, mineral oils, petro-leum refining, fertilisers, basic chemicals and inter-mediates, etc.Read More
