Abstract: Ten new tram lines are planned for Paris, France, following the success of the existing two tram lines, between St Denis and Bobigny (Line T1) and between La Defense and Issy Val-du-Siene (Line T2) . The Plan Contract sets out the plans for the new infrastructure. A total of 60 km of new tram lines are planned. Both existing lines are to be linked and then extended at both extremities, forming a circular line (Rocade Grand Tram). Details are given of the planned extensions. Some of the tramways will have steel-wheel trams, others will have a guided bus on a single guidance rail. Sixty new Alstom Citradis trams will be ordered for Line T2 and its extension. On Line T1, a fleet of 35 trams of the existing TFS class will be refurbished. Both tram depots at Bobigny and Moulineaux Billancourt will be enlarged and a new depot will be built at Colombes-La Marine.
