Title: LOW-COST ROADS IN ARAB COUNTRIES-BROAD OUTLINE OF LOW COST ROADS PROBLEMS
Abstract: THIS PAPER WAS PRESENTED AT THE CONFERENCE ORGANIZED BY THE FEDERATION OF ARAB ENGINEERS AND THE SOCIETY OF ENGINEERS OF KUWAIT, IN KUWAIT, 25-28 NOVEMBER 1974. LOW-COST ROADS ARE DEFINED. A DIFFERENTIATION IS MADE BETWEEN ROADS WITH A LOW OVERALL COST AND LIGHTLY-TRAFFICKED ROADS, AND THE RELATIONS WHICH CAN EXIST BETWEEN THESE TWO TYPES ARE DEFINED. THE FIELDS IN WHICH SAVINGS CAN BE MADE ARE MENTIONED, AND DETAILS ARE GIVEN OF SOME SPECIFICATIONS AND TECHNICAL PROCESSES.
