Title: THE MERIT OF PARTIAL PRESTRESSING IN THE DESIGN OF PRECAST I-GIRDERS
Abstract: The advantages of partial prestressing over full prestressing in design applications of standard, precast, prestressed I-girders are examined in this paper. This type of girder usually has a span between 18 and 28 meters (60 and 90 ft). Also examined was the design of a continuous connection of precast I-girders under live load condition. The paper shows the benefit of applying partial prestressing criteria to design of the connection.
