Abstract: This paper considers the management of transport issues in London, UK. The aim is to ensure the safe and efficient movement of people and goods, to provide facilities for pedestrians, cyclists and people with disabilities and to secure improvements to the urban environment. London is facing a boom in commercial activity. There has been a slight increase in traffic but a large increase in congestion. Reducing congestion is the aim of a congestion charging scheme, which would be introduced as part of an integrated plan to implement other wider measures. This scheme would raise revenue to be put back into transport improvements. For the covering abstract see ITRD E115260.
