Title: Steadily Rotating Spirals in Excitable Media
Abstract: The problem of the formation of spiral waves in two-dimensional excitable media is one of the classical problems of nonequilibrium pattern-forming system which remains unsolved. It is clear now, from numerical simulations that reaction diffusion sytems are a good physical basis for the explanation of the formation and of the characteristics of the spiral waves. However, the mathematical understanding of these solutions is far from being complete.
