Hocket: for the Birralee blokes

Description: Choral work for male voices that makes use of the technique of hocket, popular in Central and West African polyphony, medieval French composition and many other contexts. Here it is used as a means of creating an unfamiliar sound and rhythmic groove in a male choir, and has suggestions of barbershop quartet composition alongside post-minimalist approaches.
