Title: MEETING THE INTELLIGENT VEHICLE HIGHWAY SYSTEM NEEDS WITHIN TEXAS
Abstract: This article discusses the Intelligent Vehicle Highway Systems (IVHS) program and an overall program of traffic management within six major metropolitan areas in Texas. The overall Traffic Management System (TMS) consists of the Traffic Management Triad and the PEGASUS and FACTS traffic control and surveillance systems. The combination of these three components provide the base for the TMS program and for IVHS in Texas.
