Abstract: The author describes the activities of the road museum which comes under the General Bureau of the Administrative Division of the National Roads and Waterways Administration. The Road Museum collects equipment and other material illustrating the history of road technology. It presents and reconstructs historical road sections and facilities, such as different bridge types, stores and presents historical highway-related objects, and sets up exhibitions. The first museum road sections--17 sections with a combined length of 149km--were selected in January 1982. (TRRL)
