Title: The uses of accident records in a state traffic program
Abstract: Traffic accident records are the basis for any sound traffic safety program, and no police department can direct a worthwhile traffic enforcement program in the modern era without having available factual data on which to base that program. This article discusses the importance of using traffic accident data to aid in traffic law enforcement and regulation, and also to improve accident prevention efforts. The focus is on using the data to: help properly train traffic policing personnel; locate high-accident areas; and reduce incidents in school zones.
