Title: COMPARISON OF THE EFFECTS OF BUSPIRONE 5 MG AND 10 MG, DIAZEPAM 5 MG AND LORAZEPAM 1 MG (T.I.D.) UPON ACTUAL DRIVING PERFORMANCE
Abstract: A study was carried out investigating the degree of course deviation after the intake of several tranquillizers. Two relatively old compounds, diazepam and lorazepam, and a relatively new compound buspirone, were compared with placebo in a standard measurement procedure. Subjects showed increased course deviation after intake of lorazepam in comparison to buspirone, but this effect was not found for diazepam, which is probably the most frequently used tranquillizer in the world. In this respect buspirone and diazepam did not differ significantly from placebo.(a)
