Title: ASSET/SWATH. A COMPUTER-BASED MODEL FOR SWATH SHIPS
Abstract: ASSET/SWATH is a ship synthesis computer program that was developed by the U.S. Navy for Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull ships. It is the latest addition to the family of ships synthesis models known as ASSET and is used to perform early-stage SWATH designs and to assess the whole-ship impact of applied technologies. This paper described the ASSET/SWATH system concept and the underlying theory. The program itself is modular in structure, each module representing a distinct design discipline. Flexibility is provided by the incorporation of a large number of configuration and technology options. U.S. Navy design standards and algorithms are used. .
