Title: LOCATION OF RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT AREAS AND EXPENSES FOR TRAFFIC AND TRANSPORT
Abstract: In the determination of the location for residential development areas many factors play a role. In a social cost benefit analysis from all costs and benefits for the whole society an inventory is made up. The impression was given that the costs for the future residents were a forgotten category for policy decisions. In particular to weigh the cheaper building on some distance between the big cities against the higher costs of traffic and transport for the future residents. The costs of congestions with and without a new infrastructure, road construction and new public transport are estimated. Number of households, economic and sociological characteristics, expected vehicle ownership, mobility, income and education of the future residents are considered. (TRRL)
