Abstract: In 1975 the Union of Users of Public Transport was founded in France. Its aim is to improve public transport in every way. The author is vice president of the Union. Described also are the needs of pedestrians and cyclists in city centres. Many European cities are planning their centres nowadays to improve public transport and the accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists, but in France nothing has been done so far. (TRRL)
