Abstract: Evidence-Based Answer Pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) decreases symptoms in women with all types of urinary incontinence (UI) and appears particularly helpful in patients with urge incontinence (SOR: B, small but consistent RCTs). Pessaries may decrease stress incontinence, but do not appear to work better than a tampon (SOR: B, small RCTs).
