Title: GROUND VIBRATION FROM SHALLOW SUB-SURFACE BLASTS
Abstract: On many occasions during blasting operations it would be particularly useful to be able to predict the amplitude and frequency of vibrations transmitted to points relatively remote from the actual blast source. Many blasting operations, particularly for example in foundation engineering, rely upon low charge blasts at shallow depths but even in these circumstances cases of structural damage have been reported. It is the intention in this article to examine generally some of the more important results of shallow sub-surface blasting but to hold over a proposed more detailed consideration of the frequency response of the earth material. /Author/
