Title: Conceptual redevelopment options for the Roma street precinct
Abstract: This thesis examines Conceptual Redevelopment Options for the Roma Street Precinct. The document is divided into two distinct sections, preconditions and derived outcomes. The first encompasses the context, history, existing conditions, and opportunities & constraints of the Roma Street Precinct. The second uses the established pre-conditions as a pivotal point for the derivation of suitable outcomes which incorporate the redevelopment objectives, components and options. On completion of a comprehensive analysis of the site, a systematic evaluation of the derived redevelopment alternatives was undertaken. The evaluation process incorporated the rating and consequential ranking of established redevelopment options, based on the circumscribed weighting of principal and key objectives. This was achieved through the utilisation of the Multidimensional Environmental Evaluation computer software program. The results obtained through the facilitation of planning processes and substantial evaluation of the redevelopment alternatives enabled a number of conclusions and recommendation to be formed. These conclusions have endeavoured to confirm the level to which the goals Conceptual Redevelopment Options: Roma Street Precinct 1 Abstract(established in Chapter 1) were achieved. The recommendations of this thesis highlight the need for further development based studies to be undertaken, and also advocates appropriate actions to be initiated.
