Title: MASS TRANSIT PROBLEMS CATCH UP WITH THE SUBURBS
Abstract: ONE CURRENT APPROACH TO THE OVERALL PROBLEMS OF URBAN/ SUBURBAN MASS TRANSPORTATION IS MORE CENTRALIZED DEVELOPMENT THROUGH CREATION OF A METROPOLITAN MASS TRANSIT AUTHORITY. IF SUCH AN APPROACH IS TO BE EFFECTIVE, HOWEVER, THE SYSTEM MUST WORK AT BOTH THE URBAN AND SUBURBAN END. FOR SUBURBS, THIS MEANS DEVELOPING VIABLE TRANSIT SYSTEMS THAT CAN PROVIDE ACCESS LINKS TO THE METROPOLITAN SYSTEM; HOWEVER AT THE PRESENT TIME, MANY CITIES LACK THE INFORMATION TO MAKE RATIONAL DECISIONS CONCERNING FEEDER BUSES. /AUTHOR/
