Title: SENSITIVITY ANALYSIS OF TRAFFIC EMISSIONS ON THE OZONE CONCENTRATIONS OVER THE IBERIAN PENINSULA BY USING MM5-CMAQ AIR QUALITY MODELLING SYSTEM
Abstract: The importance of traffic emissions on ozone concentrations is fully recognized in most of the air pollution studies around the world. On the other hand, the uncertainty related to the importance of background concentrations which represent medium and long range is a critical issue. Impact of traffic emission on the air concentrations of primary and secondary pollutants at different scales is becoming an important issue on air pollution modelling. In this contribution we have analysed the impact of traffic emissions on ozone concentrations during a selected period in April, 2001 over the Iberian Peninsula. We have used the MM5 mesoscale meteorological model and the Community Multiscale Air Quality Modelling System (CMAQ). Both correspond with the third generation of meteorological and air quality modelling from PSU/NCAR and EPA respectively. Results show an important sensitivity of ozone concentrations to NOx emissions. For the covering abstract see ITRD E122175.
