Title: FEDERAL TRANSPORT PLANNING FROM THE POINT OF VIEW OF GERMAN RAILWAYS
Abstract: UNDER THE COORDINATED INVESTMENT PROGRAMME FOR FEDERAL TRAFFIC ROUTES UP TO THE YEAR 1985, WHICH INVOLVES AN INVESTMENT SUM OF 111 MILLIARD DM, APPROXIMATELY 17 MILLIARD DM (EQUAL TO 16%) WILL FLOW TO THE GERMAN FEDERAL RAILWAYS. THE ARRANGEMENT OF THIS FINANCING FOR INVESTMENT PROJECTS CAN PARTLY BE UNDERTAKEN WITH THE AID OF COST BENEFIT ANALYSES; PART OF THE FINANCE MUST, HOWEVER, BE DISTRIBUTED WITHOUT ECONOMIC CONSIDERATIONS. FOR THE FURTHER PROJECTION OF THE FEDERAL TRAFFIC ROUTE PLANNING, THE BUNDESBAHN PROVIDES AN INCREASE IN SUBVENTIONS FOR HIGHWAY FREIGHT TRANSPORT AND FOR INLAND WATERWAY TRANSPORT RESULTING FROM INADEQUATE CHARGING OF ROUTE COSTS. CONSIDERATION IS TAKEN OF THE ALTERED TRANSPORT POLICY TARGET STRUCTURES IN THE PLANNING METHODOLOGY.
