The selected model is applied to estimate the modal share of existing modes and to evaluate different policies in the context of gaining more riders for buses in order to improve the traffic condition. Various Multinomial Logit (MNL) and Nested Logit (NL) models with different nesting structures are developed using the incremental approach. It is found that modal share of the bus is 41 percent. It is concluded that the most suitable policy to improve bus ridership is to reduce the total travel time, by providing express bus service and bus lanes.Read More
