Title: PSYCHOLOGICAL STUDY OF TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS ON URBAN PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Abstract: The study examines the impacts of the human factor on traffic accidents on urban public transport in the town of Novi Sad. A sample of 300 drivers, holders of the D category driving licence, was chosen, and their accident involvement over a ten-year period was observed. General findings of applied psychology and the results obtained in this study, strongly emphasize that in conditions of traffic congestion, inadequate road capacity, fast vehicles, different behaviours of road users and growing accident rates, a more detailed and refined approach to the study of driver's behaviour, habits and attitudes is necessary. The fact that traffic accidents are caused by a number of factors occurring at the same time must not be disregarded. A multidisciplinary etiological study of the phenomenon must be conducted. (TRRL)
