Title: TEST ROAD WITH FULL DEPTH BITUMINOUS PAVEMENT AT VENDELSOE 1974
Abstract: The objective was partly to make a technical and economic comparison between different construction methods of roads with full depth bituminous pavements and partly to determine the requirements that must be set regarding the bearing capacity of the subgrade and the thickness that must be selected for a full depth bituminous pavement for a given bearing capacity of the subgrade under particular traffic conditions. This final report summarises results from measurements and observations. Interaction is shown to exist between the thickness of the full depth bituminous pavement and the course modulus within two temperature ranges and also between the thickness of such a pavement and the bearing capacity of the road in different temperature ranges under particular subgrade conditions. With the particular subgrade materials and local climatic conditions prevailing, the pavement thicknesses of 29-42 cm which were applied on the evenness and to resist the effects of frost heave on the road structure.
