Title: CONTRIBUTION TO THE PROBLEM OF FRONTAL CRASH TESTS
Abstract: The most frequent types of accidents involving injuries to persons are accidents at junctions and accidents involving opposing traffic. For this reason the design of the front to produce a stiff cell around the passenger as a survival area deserves priority and in future research and development for new car models and their optimization the frontal crash must be guaranteed the greatest attention amongst testing methods. In the forefront of international discussion regarding future standard frontal tests, is the crash pattern at 0 degrees impact and the crash pattern at 30 degrees impact. The author discusses both crash tests as well as their effectiveness and comes to the conclusion that the 30 degree crash test must be given priority because it corresponds most closely to actual events.
