Of secondary concern was the investigation of the status of the high-school female athlete as perceived by high-school female athletes and non-athletes and male athletes and non-athletes, and the comparison of the perceived status of the high-school female athlete with that of the female and Subjects participating in this study were 531 students from two high schools in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada and 532 students from two high schools in Greensboro, North Carolina.
