Abstract: A road traffic noise analysis method and system is introduced in this paper based on the technology of SDTM (synthetic digital terrain model) and line source equivalent substitution and dispersion of stochastic vehicle flow. A geometric design and optimization method for road noise barriers based on the above system is proposed in detail. Influence of various environmental conditions, such as buildings, topographic condition, vegetable covers, and so on, can be simulated approximately with this method. Visible evaluation and design of traffic noise and effects of road noise barriers are realized in some degree.
