Title: PAVEMENT MATERIALS - THE USE OF THE CALIFORNIA BEARING RATIO TEST IN CONTROLLING QUALITY
Abstract: The report briefly discusses the suitability of the California bearing ratio (CBR) test for control of pavement materials and construction standards. It concludes that the CBR is too slow and expensive for widespread use as A control test but rather should be used for selection of materials and investigation of problems with the simpler, quicker and cheaper classification tests used for on-the-job control. /TRRL/
