Title: ETHICS AND TRUCKLOAD GENERAL FREIGHT CARRIERS: THE SHIPPER PERSPECTIVE
Abstract: This paper reports the results from a study designed to learn about the ethical practices and behaviors of truckload (TL) carriers of general freight. This study, conducted among a group of U.S. shippers, found that, for the most part, TL carriers exhibit ethical behavior. Furthermore, shippers view the operation of unsafe motor vehicles as the most important ethical issue facing TL carriers; customer dependence on one transportation company is the least important issue.
