Title: THE LABORATORY RESEARCH ON THE DEFLECTION DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TWO SLABS OF THE CONCRETE PAVEMENT WITH ASPHALT OVERLAY
Abstract: Reflection cracks resulted from shear stress induced by vehicle load is one of the conventional damage of asphalt concrete (AC) overlay on the exiting Portland cement concrete (PCC) pavement. The deflection difference at the joints between two slabs can be used to control this mode of distress. The effect of AC overlay on the feflection difference is analyzed through full-size test in doors as well as comparised with the data before surfaced. With large-scale fatigue test equipment, the fatigue response and properties of this structure under repeated loads is also studied, which is helpful to establish a design method of AC overlay depend on feflection difference.
