Title: THE HYDRODYNAMIC BRAKE AS A PERMANENT AND PRELIMINARY BRAKE FOR COMMERCIAL VEHICLES
Abstract: THE AUTHOR POINTS OUT THAT THE USE OF THE HYDRAULIC BRAKE ON HEAVY VEHICLES MAKES IT POSSIBLE TO DOUBLE SPEEDS ON GRADIENTS, WHICH RESULTS IN AN INCREASE IN AVERAGE SPEED, THUS PROMOTING EFFICIENCY. THE HYDRAULIC BRAKE ALSO CONTRIBUTES TO THE SAFETY OF LORRIES AND BUSES AS IT RENDERS THERMAL OVER-STRESSING OF THE BRAKE OPERATED IMPOSSIBLE. COSTS OF THE HYDRAULIC BRAKE ARE BALANCED OUT BY THE INCREASED LIFE OF THE BRAKE LININGS AND DRUMS. THE ARTICLE IS AVAILABLE IN ENGLISH AS MOTOR INDUSTRY RESEARCH ASSOCIATION TRANSLATION NO. 59/72.
