Title: Transport of a relativistic electron beam to a fusion target
Abstract: The large angular divergence of the electrons in a high-current beam imposes a fundamental limitation on the degree of radial compression of electron beams. If electromagnetic energy is transported from the storage bank to the fusion target along a vacuum transmission line with magnetic insulation, it may be possible to avoid this difficulty.
