Abstract: Due to the expanded impermeable pavements of today’s increased roads, road flooding frequently occurs during localized torrential rainfalls and subsequently leads to casualties, property damage, odor, water pollution and more. On the other hand, as runoff prevention allows only a little rainwater to infiltrate, it has a negative influence on underground water and urban water circulation. Among the existing road drainage system, while a rain-gutter is a device that is linked to rainwater pipe, it can also cause the problem of backflow into the streets. Also, rainwater collected in the rain-gutter is immediately sent to the rainwater pipe and if it could be detained or infiltrated, it would help solve the problem of urban water circulation. Thus, the purpose of this research is to develop an automatic cleaning screen that can be applied to a rain-gutter installed on existing roads to treat deposits and sludge inside the rain-gutter so that a rain-gutter would not get clogged and subsequently generate road flooding. Also, it aims to develop an environmentally friendly discharge system that can secure a city’s water circulation system and prevent road flooding by developing a system that overflows rainwater primarily treated in the rain-gutter and allows rainwater to infiltrate into the ground.
