In this study, SELENOI (Dayu) regulates overloaded ether-linked phosphatidylcholine (the raging Yellow River floods), prevents ferroptosis (the flood dragon), and finally rescues the impaired intestinal epithelial cells (the suffering tribes). This finding offers novel perspectives for understanding the role of SELENOI in gut diseases and provides a scientific basis for new therapeutic strategies for colitis and colorectal cancer.
