Regenerative procedure based on the usage of stem cells, scaffold, and growth factors aims to repair and replace damaged tooth structures and restore normal pulp function in combination with regaining pulp connective tissue vitality in necrotic and infected teeth. This regenerative technique, commonly known as the regenerative endodontics procedure, is based on the following prerequisites: presence of stem cells, complete disinfection of the root canals, provision of a scaffold within a root canal, and provision of a signal to the stem cells so that they can differentiate. Stem cells of the apical papilla have been shown to play a major role in regeneration techniques.
