Title: Bioprospecting in Nigeria: Efficacy of the Regulatory Law
Abstract: The quest for superfluous wealth led to the emergence of myriad of ailments some of which defiled laboratory remedy. In view of this, molecular biologists decided to look beyond the four corners of the laboratory and scout for biodiversity materials, mostly in developing countries, in order to extract its medicinal compound to cure some of these ailments. This is otherwise known as bioprospecting. This paper tends to examine the sustainability of environmental resources through bioprospecting activities or the adverse effect of bioprospecting on the environment and make recommendation accordingly.
