Title: ESTUDO DE CÉLULAS FOTOVOLTAICAS DE SILÍCIO COMO RADIÔMETROS
Abstract: The analysis of solar potential of a region is fundamental for the prospects of application.. But the data measured with pyranometers not represent accurately the potential useful solar for photovoltaic conversion. In this context, the implementation of photovoltaic radiometers represents an effective solution. Big industries of pyranometers already manufacture these devices and published articles also shown their efficiency. Howsoever, the interest of Laboratório de Energia Solar (LABENSOL) -UEFS, is study the operation of a photovoltaic cell as radiometer. The way taken was to evaluate its operation in relation to the proposed mathematical model, test it against the parameters of the specification set out in ISO-9060 and compare it with a reference pyranometer for the measurements performed at ambient. As a result, the cell studied was efficient considering the proposed analysis. The measured I-V curve, fits the model, with maximum error of 5%. Overall, the results for the specification parameters remained within the limits set by ISO-9060 and comparison with the reference pyranometer determined the cell such as photovoltaic pyranometer with an accuracy of 5%. In this variable, according to the WMO (World Meteorological Organisation), the cell is classified as a pyranometer of "good quality". As Prospects of future testing, there is already a proposal to replace the radiation source and the whole basis used in the laboratory, waiting, as a result, more refined measures and tests equivalent to those for proposed by established norms.
