Title: Parafia rzymskokatolicka pw. św. Marcina w Nowym Mieście po II wojnie światowej na terenie USSR w świetle źródeł sowieckich
Abstract: Artykuł ukazuje powojenne losy parafii pw. św. Marcina w Nowym Mieście, która przed II wojną światową leżała w granicach diecezji przemyskiej i należała do jednych z najstarszych (powstała przed 1419 r.). Niestety, na skutek nowej sytuacji politycznej znalazła się ona – podobnie jak znaczna część diecezji przemyskiej – w granicach Związku Radzieckiego, w którym władze komunistyczne prowadziły agresywną walkę z religią. Represje ateistycznego systemu dosięgły również rzymskokatolicką parafię w Nowym Mieście. Swoje przetrwanie i możliwość funkcjonowania w sowieckiej rzeczywistości zawdzięcza ona przede wszystkim postawie niezłomnego pasterza – ks. Jana Szeteli oraz grupie wiernych, którzy mimo opresyjnej polityki państwa wobec wierzących wzięli odpowiedzialność za utrzymanie jednej z ostatnich na tym terenie placówki duszpasterskiej. To właśnie o tych zmaganiach i heroicznej postawie ludzi opowiada artykuł. Bazuje on przede wszystkim na materiale źródłowym pochodzącym z Państwowego Archiwum Obwodu Lwowskiego we Lwowie i właśnie to stanowi o jego oryginalności, gdyż w zasadzie dokumenty te w bardzo nikłym stopniu (niektóre jako kopie przechowywane w kancelarii parafialnej) były wykorzystywane przy opisywaniu parafii w Nowym Mieście w okresie systemu komunistycznego bądź niezłomnej postawy jej duszpasterza – ks. Jana Szeteli.
