Title: Settlement in Sand Deposits Following Liquefaction
Abstract: Abstract When saturated sand deposits are subjected to shaking during an earthquake, pore water pressure is known to build up leading to liquefaction or loss of strength. The pore water pressure then starts to dissipate mainly towards the ground surface, accompanied by some volume change of the sand deposits which is manifested on the ground surface as settlement.
