Abstract: Abstract The notion of international crimes became well established in 1945 with the Charter of the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg. This charter pro¬ vided for the trial of persons not only of war crimes, which existed before this date, but also of crimes against peace and crimes against humanity committed during the Second World War. The same set of crimes was prosecuted by the Tribunal for the Far East, established in 1946.
